Award-winning editor and producer, Alejandro Valdes-Rochin has over 20 years of experience collaborating on non-fiction productions, from features to TV series and short form. He’s sought after for his sharp narrative skills, as well as for his ability to craft engaging cinematic experiences centered around empathy. His work has been shown theatrically and programmed on outlets such as National Geographic, Netflix, HBO, Prime, Al-Jazeera, PBS and Red Bull TV. 


Notable works by Alejandro include SCIENCE FAIR (Festival Favorite Award at Sundance and Emmy winner), MAXIMA (Audience Award at Hot Docs), and FIVE YEARS NORTH (Metropolis Prize at DOC NYC and duPont-Columbia Awards finalist). Other collaborations include the hard-hitting pieces MENUDO: FOREVER YOUNG for HBO Max, UNDOCUMENTED IN THE PANDEMIC for PBS’ Frontline, and the duPont-Columbia award winner THE NAKED TRUTH: DEATH BY FENTANYL for Fusion. On PBS’  A THOUSAND PINES, he collaborated as a consulting editor.


Alejandro has also been a frequent mentor and speaker for Film Independent and Global Media Makers’  non-fiction programs in Asia, Europe and the U.S. Currently, he is an executive producer on the feature doc UMBRELLAS OF THE ACROBATS (2025 finalist for The Whickers Fund).
